Thank You to St. Augustine's School Gr. 7 & 8 Leadership Group:
St. Augustine’s “St. Vincent de Paul Ministry" would like to thank the grade 7 & 8 students from St. Augustine’s school, who helped during the 2022-23 school year. From time to time, they helped pack groceries for the Wednesday afternoon hamper distributions.
As St Augustine's School Guidance Counsellor, Bryanne DeRoo explains, "Our 7 and 8 leadership classes have been the ones volunteering with St. Vincent de Paul this year. After COVID, we were so excited to get back to connecting the school and church with more than attending Mass. These students were chosen as we discussed different leadership styles, and the one that aligns with the core values of the school/community is servant leadership. Helping with the hampers was a beautiful way to connect with the church community while doing an act of service. We also hand made fleece blankets for St. Vincent de Paul to give out in the cold winter months."
She goes on to say, "On Wednesday, June 21, some of our 7s will be helping with the hampers, but as well, as part of a St. Augustine School initiative, our 8s will be giving out bagged lunches on the ramp too to those receiving hampers! "
